About the Presenters

imageEd Brayton is a journalist, commentator and speaker. In his younger years he was also a stand-up comedian. He is the co-founder and president of Michigan Citizens for Science and co-founder of The Panda's Thumb. He has written for such publications as The Bard, Skeptic and Reports of the National Center for Science Education and appeared on nationally syndicated radio shows and on C-SPAN.

Ed is also a Fellow with the Center for Independent Media and the host of Declaring Independence, a one hour weekly political talk show on WPRR in Grand Rapids, Michigan. His blog Dispatches from the Culture Wars is featured on Scienceblogs.com.

imageJessica Sudy is a Grand Haven, MI native. She is finishing her degree in Interdisciplinary Studies at Grand Valley State University and is an up-and-coming Stand-up comedian who lists among her influences Damitri Martin, Dane Cook, Brian Regan, Mitch Hedburg, and her Grandma who she describes as "Crazy, Tough Badass."

imageGreg Bliss is a playwright, director, scenic designer, painter and of course poet. He has been a member of the 2001 Grand Rapids Slam Team and a member of the Kalamazoo Slam Team in 2002 and 2003. He is the chair of the Performance Art Committee at the Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts, the co-founder of X-performance Group and the Michigan Shakespeare Festival. Greg has an MA in Theater, a BA in secondary education/communication. He will be performing at this event with Conduit featuring mixed electronica and live percussion.
