CFI GVSU: Debate - God and the Problem of Suffering (Allendale)
Thursday, March 2, 2017, 7:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Grand Valley State University, Cook-Dewitt Auditorium, Allendale, MI, View Map
**The Cook-Dewitt building is immediately northeast of the Cook Carillon "Tower" easily located in the center of the Allendale Campus. The auditorium is just inside the main entrance.** Join atheist Justin Schieber and Christian theist Timothy Arndt for a lively philosophical dialogue and debate on the age-old puzzle that surrounds God and suffering. If an all-powerful, all-knowing, and perfectly good God exists, how does one explain the existence, intensity, and distribution of the suffering in our world? Despite the rich history of philosophers and theologians battling it out, the problem of suffering continues to be one of the most well-known and powerful intellectual and emotional challenges to theistic belief. The debate will be held in at Grand Valley State University's Allendale campus in the Cook DeWitt Center Auditorium. Hosted by Center for Inquiry at Grand Valley and RatioChristi.
Students from other area campuses are invited to attend.
