Description
The CFI Service Committee has decided to focus on Education and Children during the Fall season. Our first Fall volunteer activity is with the Grand Rapids Children's Museum.
The Grand Rapids Children's Museum celebrates childhood and the joy of learning by providing an exciting hands-on environment that inspires learning and encourages self-directed exploration. The Grand Rapids Children's Museum opened it's doors at 11 Sheldon N.E. Grand Rapids on July 31, 1997. The guiding philosophy of the Children's Museum is based on a couple basic beliefs - that play is a child's work, and that children learn best when they direct their own learning.
Our task will be to help with tear down of the 'Curious George' exhibit! We will need 4-5 "strong" individuals to help disassemble this exhibit as well as some energetic people to help clean up the GRCM construction site. This event will be held Sunday October 3rd 5pm-8pm. Plan to meet outside the Children's Museum by the mural by 4:45pm.
Please RSVP to Janelle Hill at or 616-334-3551. The group may meet for an early dinner before the event, so we'll need your contact info to include you in that.
This event falls on National Secular Service Day - learn more about that celebration - http://www.secularserviceday.org/
