Café Inquiry: Turning a Profit off the Most Debt Ridden Generation (Grand Rapids)

Sunday, June 11, 2017, 11:00 am – 1:00 pm
Schuler Books - Studio, 2660 28th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI, View Map

Description

Those pesky Millennials! It's not enough that they're closing large retail stores and trying to kill Buffalo Wild Wings, now they're hogging all the attention of our hallowed advertisers. Our discussion this Sunday will be based on a Guardian Editorial entitled "Looking 'woken': how advertising targets millennial liberals for profit". How should millennials, the most debt ridden generation of the American Middle Class, respond to this onslaught from our purveyors of mass consumerism? Will they fall prey to the tactics of Madison Avenue or continue to follow their budget-minded ways of the current millennium? Come and contribute to this discussion This Sunday at 11 am at Schuler's Books. And check out the editorial from The Guardian.

Members are welcome to propose and schedule a topic which would be of interest toward establishing a secular society based on science, reason, freedom of inquiry, and humanist values. Please contact us if you have a topic that you would like to discuss at an upcoming Café Inquiry.

Café Inquiry (Grand Rapids) meets on the second and fourth Sundays of each month.
