About the Speaker

Dan Ray is a former Professor and Chair of the Constitutional Law Department at the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan from 2005 until 2014. He taught Constitutional Law I & II, courses that dealt with the sources and scope of governmental power and individual rights and liberties. Before coming to the Cooley faculty, Ray practiced law in Kansas and Missouri. His practice focused on civil trials and appeals. Ray has also taught law at the undergraduate level at the University of Missouri-Kansas City Law School. He received a J.D. degree from UMKC Law School and an undergraduate degree in Finance from Texas Christian University.

Ed Brayton is the voice behind the popular blog Dispatches from the Culture Wars. He is the co-founder and past president of Michigan Citizens for Science and the recipient of the Friend of Darwin Award from the National Center for Science Education and has appeared on The Rachel Maddow Show, The Thom Hartmann Show, and C-SPAN. Ed is also a current member of CFI Advisory Board, and serves as the Chair of the Advocacy Committee.
