greetings one and all wink I am here because I see science as the means by which God created the universe. I am a deitist.
I do not belive God can be shoe horned into any one religion. Nor I can not accept that randomness has lead to the universe around us. I am ok accepting a higher power but I am extremely uncomfortable with tradional religions and I agree with many here that they do attempt to brainwash. Anything they can not readily accept is immediatly evil and wrong. I also reject the thought that absence of religion is also an absence of morality. I see the meaning of life to simply survive to procreate and to make the world a better place for those who will follow us. But beyond that it is to live laugh and learn! To that end I am in the medical field and going back for an rt degree and currently working as a mental health worker. I want to help others. I think we ourselves may one day provide our own salvation through science and technology and so I see science as a religion unto itself that will reveal the mind of god on god’s own terms.
I am here seeking like minded folks who want to learn and exchange ideas with out rancor. I have a huge divergent spectrum of interests like history, keltic culture, renn faires, biking, soccer, reading(BTW has anyone ever read any Heinlien?)chess and of course being Irish (with the gift of gap;) great conversations and lots of laughter!
Pls feel free to email me at
I intend to go to the event 6/6 hope to see ya there!

Jeffo, I am a big fan of Heinlen and a lot of other science fiction authors. Unfortunately, most of my books are boxed up in the basement because I lack shelf space.

“A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects.”
- Lazarus Long, “Time Enough For Love” (R.A. Heinlein)

Hey Jeffo, did you end up making it to some meetings? What did you think?
