Hi, my name is Kelly.  Haha, starting off like that, it feels like I’m in AA.  I’m a Legal Studies major at Grand Valley and I jumped at the chance to join Freethought on campus when it started in January because I was raised in the Roman Catholic church and as most people know, it’s the easiest way to convert someone to agnosticism/atheism.  There are so many Christian groups on campus and they make sure they get their names and agendas out there so it was awesome to meet people I could really relate to.  I’m also an active member in GVSU’s pro-choice group and now I get twice as many death glares when people overhear me talking about Freethought while I hand out free condoms for the pro-choice group.  When school ended in April, I started going to Freethough meetings downtown because I was jonesing for some good “godless heathen” fun.  Getting more involved with the group is on my to-do list but with my schedule fall semester and lack of transportation, it’s not looking very good. Hoping for the best, though.

Kelly, I’m glad you’ve gotten involved! You, Tricia, Evan, Andrew and the others are doing an awesome job with the On Campus group at GVSU.
