About the Speaker
Richard Bellon is an assistant professor in the Lyman Briggs College at Michigan State University. He studies and teaches the history of science. Two goals currently drive his teaching and research: first, he wants to develop better explanation of the reception of Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution in the 1860s and 1870s, and second, he aims to uncover and explore the deep historical and philosophical roots of contemporary biotechnology.
